Trivia[edit]

Starfield is a player owned town added in Release 63. It is located in north Midmaer.

The original people that settled here loved the flowering grassland, because it resembled the night sky strewn with multicolored stars, which is the origin of the name of the town - Starfield. There was also from the very beginning an abiding interest in the actual stars and other celestial objects, too. The town seemed to attract astronomers, both because of the name, and the wide open spaces gave an unprecedented field of view for stargazing. As governor, I'll try to fill the role of a member of the founding family. Buckaroo is among the first families to settle here - this is a new town, just getting on it's feet among much older, more established towns in Novia. Buckaroo, along with the help of his family, has built the giant moondial on the hill, attracting even more astronomers to live and work here. Starfield has collected astronomers, engineers, craftsmen and scientists, all in support of academic interests. This is complemented by a large number of artists, poets, and creative people inspired by the locale, with the nighttime thick with the stars both above and below. As the different colors of the moons shine and enhance different prairie flowers, the nights are a kaleidoscope of color and beauty.

The town square is a modest one, with two main central areas; one for crafting, selling and bartering of goods; the other a star-garden - where residents can relax during the nights, leaning back together in their stargazer chairs, sipping mulled wine and hot teas. There is ample room around the square for residents to proudly display their finest creations, including both crafted works and art and literature, to be enjoyed by all. The inner ring of row housing contains the bulk of the commerce, and smaller housing. For those that prefer more spacious accommodations, areas of other sized housing is available.
